NIV02 - 2008 - terrace

This old-fashioned XIXth century garden is housing some disparate and romatic "folies" in a heterogenous vegetation.

What posture should the terrace hanging over the garden adopt ? Withdraw from the garden and extend the built context ? Or detach itself from the house and play the game proposed by the small garden pavillions ? The project is both at once, forming an articulation between a functional context -the house, the barns- and a artifical but playful garden.

A black concrete prism expands space and responds the traditional black basements of farm buildings, while a inmaculate white wall is folded, freeing broad stairs down to the grassy garden.
