The tiny white tower is situated along the waterway connecting the harbor and the North Sea, near to the pier of the ferry helping In contains a office, rest space and storage room for the ferryman helping people walking along the shore to cross the waterway.

The tower corresponds a collection of small vertical buildings spread along the waterway, like a lighthouse, the port offices, or an outdated boey used as a monument. The white planks of the cladding are reminiscent of the small beach houses used by the tourists.

The building is conform to the passive energy standard and consists of a mainly prefabricated wooden structure.
