On May 28th 2015, in presence of the almost entire AgwA team, Benoît Vandenbulcke presented publicly the outcome of his doctoral research entitled "Abstraction, concretion : comprehension and production of architecture projects through immersion" supervised by Prof. Olivier Masson. The research explores new ways of analyzing projects through the replay of possible design paths, involving the embodied knowledge of the researcher practitioner, in order to question a possible common ground in built architecture practices today, addressing particularly the work of Peter Zumthor, Herzog & De Meuron and Sanaa. And most of all, we will celebrate the end of this very enriching research journey.

The works at Elisabeth are nearing completion. On a gray day, the scaffolding was taken away, revealing the tiled facade. It looks like a collage but it is the real thing. The tiles are lightly shiny, so the facade is animated by the changing daylight. We will have to wait completion to take some good pictures.

The tensioning of the roof still needs to be adjusted. In the coming weeks, Jean Luc Moerman will paint the entire asphalt floor of the courtyard.

As many others, the office was almost immediately projected in the arbitrary realm of a deconstructed architectural field, with a vast amount of masters to look at, with infinite technical possibilities, and with landscapes that are continuously reshaped. Are there still relevant ideologies to follow or is architecture recentering on individual practices? During 9 years of intensive practice, the work of AgwA in Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia has embodied a permanent research on these issues. The exhbition contains 6 main projects and retraces how AgwA developed a coherent architectural approach beyond the issue of arbitrariness, and how the inner design processes became its underlying condition. The exhibition is organized in the framework of the doctoral research by design practice led by Harold Fallon at the RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) with the support of LUCA School of Arts - Sint-Lucas Architectuur in Belgium.

Harold Fallon presented his final PhD examination this friday 23rd. The PhD was developed at RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institure of Technology) with the support of Sint Lucas architectuur - LUCA (KULeuven). It is entitled "metarbitrariness" and was examined in the exhibition "AgwA : an architecture of practice". The public opening of the exhibition will be on the 28th of november.

This is the traditional picture taken after the conference NICHE in bozar. The office in front of Victor Horta's sculpture.

In December BOZAR ARCHITECTURE's NICHE series will feature new work from AgwA. In the heart of an old Brussels district, this young architectural practice has transformed and enlarged a former tyre workshop, built in the late 1950s in a modernist style.
The building, which has preserved the qualities of space and light of the period of its construction, now houses a sports hall, an after-school homework programme, and three moderate-rent apartments. This mixed development meets the requirements set out in the "neighbourhood agreement" urban-regeneration project for the Métal-Monnaie district.
In their presentation, the partners Harold Fallon and Benoît Vandenbulcke will, among other things, outline the context of the project and explain how it took shape. The model of their work will be on display, from 18 December, in the alcoves situated around the Henry Le Boeuf Hall.
